Buckeye Vertical is proud and excited to provide a series of lectures available to students and industry professionals during Ohio State University's academic term. Through these seminars, we look to increase awareness of this rapidly growing field to the general student body. It’s our goal to create a platform where undergraduates and graduates can begin to critically think about Advanced Air Mobility's complexity, as well as its future, by learning from professionals and leaders in this field. Past Speakers
Our previous speakers, Dr. Jim Gregory, Dr. Matthew McCrink, Frank Delsing, and John Langford, paved the way for the Buckeye Vertical Lecture Series. Over the course of the 2021 spring semester, these subject matter experts were able to captivate the attention of approximately 100 OSU students whilst sharing their unique insights on a multitude of topics within the realm of AAM.

Dr. Jim Gregory & Dr. Matthew McCrinkThe first speakers of Buckeye Vertical's Lecture Series were Dr. Jim Gregory and Dr. Matt McCrink. Together they gave a lecture on what they believed students at The Ohio State University would need in order to find success within the field of Advanced Air Mobility.

Frank DelsingOur second presenter, Frank Delsing, created a compelling presentation on Agility Prime and its efforts to revolutionize the future of vertical flight technology. He spoke in depth to students and industry professionals about how the Air Force initiative was created to accelerate the emerging technology of AAM vehicles.

Dr. John LangfordBuckeye Vertical's final presenter for OSU's 2021 spring semester was John Langford. He developed a captivating presentation on electric aircraft propulsion and batteries, and gave an in-depth discussion on how his company, Electra.areo, was creating a new generation of electric short takeoff and land (eSTOL) aircraft that will be safe, clean, quiet, convenient, affordable, and fun.

Fall 2021 Speakers
Women And DronesWe were elated to have the opportunity to collaborate with Women And Drones this fall semester through our Lecture Series. Sharon Rossmark, CEO of Women And Drones, moderated a panel of industry professionals who discussed the future integration of UAS/AAM in our national air space and the economy. Our speakers included Ernest Huffman, Lisa Peterson, and Richard Fox.

Sabrina Saunders-HodgeIt is wonderful to announce that our final guest speaker of this semester for the Buckeye Vertical Lecture Series will be Sabrina Saunders-Hodge! Sabrina Saunders-Hodge is the Acting Deputy Executive Director of the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Integration Office, and is speaking virtually on November 30th, from 7-8 PM ET. Sharon Rossmark, CEO of Women and Drones, moderated a panel of industry professionals who discussed how UAS are being used to inspect America's aging infrastructure and test its water systems.

Chris AndersonBuckeye Vertical's second Lecture Series of the semester was Chris Anderson, COO and Head of Product at Kittyhawk. On March 23rd, 7-8 PM EST, he talked about Kittyhawk building a single-person, remotely-piloted electric aircraft with the goal of making air taxis affordable, ubiquitous, and eco-concious.

Rich GrangerWe were so excited to welcome Rich Granger, Managing Direction of Workforce and Economic Development at DriveOhio, virtually on March 24th, 7-8PM EST as the last speaker of this semester's Lecture Series. He discussed methods to accelerate statewise investments in the fast-growing sectors of automated vehicles and AAM.
